If you already have email setup in gmail and need to adjust it to work with our mail server please check the following article instead otherwise if adding for the first time please continue on:

Yes Yes, we know… Gmail is awesome and you want to continue using it even though your email is hosted with BigScoots ;)

Well, we can make that happen. Essentially all your email will still be sent to/from BigScoots but Gmail will be periodically checking for new emails and pull them into your Gmail account. You can also configure Gmail to send emails using your email so the receiving end will see you@yourdomain.com instead of you@gmail.com. We explain all the necessary steps below.

Setting up your incoming email with Gmail:

  • Log into Gmail.

  • On the right hand side click the Settings wheel.

  • From the dropdown, select “Settings” and then the tab “Accounts and Import“.

  • Half way down the page click the link "Add a mail account"  on the “Check mail from other accounts:" section. You will now be greeted with a popup.

  • Enter in your email address and click Next Step

  1. Username: Your username will again be your email address, ex. you@yourdomain.com

  2. Password: Enter in your password to your email account.

  3. POP Server: mail.yourdomain.tld or yourserver.securedserverspace.com** (How Do I find my server?)

  4. WPO customers you can use the POP Server: mail.scoots.email

  5. Port: 995

  6. Check the box for “Always use a secure connection (SSL) when retrieving mail.” The rest are optional and up to you.
