If you're managing a dedicated server with WHM, accessing the server via SSH allows you to perform advanced administrative tasks, troubleshoot issues, and manage server-level configurations directly from the command line. This guide will walk you through the steps needed to securely connect to your server via SSH, whether you're using macOS, Linux, or Windows.
Log into your billing portal using the link below, with your registered username and password: https://portal.bigscoots.com/clientarea/
Once you’ve logged in, click on 'Services' and select 'Fully Managed Dedicated Servers'. You’ll then see a list of the Shared servers associated with your account. Click on the server you want to access the server via SSH. Since there is only one server in this account, it will appear as the only option in the list.
On the next page, click on your dedicated server.
On the next page click on login details, and get the SSH details from there. The user will be root, port is 2222 and password is hidden. The ip is the public ip of your server.
Now, open your terminal if you are using a Linux or macOS operating system, and use the above details to access the server via SSH.
If you're using a Windows operating system, you'll need to use an SSH client like PuTTY with the same SSH access details.
Congratulations! You've successfully accessed your dedicated server via SSH.
