Securing your website with an SSL certificate is essential for protecting your visitors’ data and improving your site’s trustworthiness. Depending on how your DNS is configured, you can easily issue an SSL certificate directly through your WPO portal. This guide will walk you through the simple steps to activate SSL for your domain, ensuring your site stays safe and secure.

WPO plans use Cloudflare by default and rely on the SSL certificate provided by Cloudflare. If Cloudflare proxying is disabled, the domain will instead use the SSL certificate issued by WPO.

You can issue an SSL certificate if your DNS is pointed directly to the BigScoots IP or if you are using Cloudflare SSL with the SSL type set to FULL (strict). However, if your Cloudflare SSL type is FULL and the Cloudflare proxy is enabled for your DNS records, there is no need to issue an SSL from the WPO portal, as Cloudflare will handle the SSL.

  1. Login to your WPO portal using this link.

  2. Click on 'My Sites' and select the site for which you want to issue SSL.

  3. Go to the 'SSL' section under the 'Security' tab.

  4. Click on Activate to issue ssl on the domain.

  5. Once the SSL is issued, you will receive a confirmation message.

Congratulations! You’ve successfully issued an SSL certificate for your domain from the WPO portal.
