At this time, there is no direct option to change the domain name of an existing WordPress site in the BigScoots Console.
Instead, you can clone your existing website to a new domain while keeping the same website content and data. Follow the steps below to complete the process.
Log in to your BigScoots Console using this link
On the homepage, click Create New Site.
On next page, select Create New Website, then click Continue to proceed.
Next, select the service where you want to add the new site. If your plan has available capacity, choose the appropriate service, then click Continue to proceed.
If you have already purchased a domain and want to connect it to your WordPress website, select Connect Existing Domain, then click Continue.
Now, enter the new domain you want to use and press Enter. Once the domain has been added, click Continue to proceed.
You can share the login details for your domain registrar with us, and we can help make the site live through BigScoots. In this section, select Help Me Update DNS.
We already have some common domain registrars listed in the dropdown. Select the registrar where your domain is registered, enter the login details, and then click Continue. If you would prefer to update the DNS records yourself, select I’ll update DNS myself.
On this step, select Clone Existing Site to clone your current website to the new domain, then click Continue to proceed.
Next, select the domain you want to clone the website content from, then click Continue to proceed.
You will have the option to choose Monthly or Annual billing, and then you have the option to select Boost, Optimization Pro and Security Pro for your websites. You can also use Pro Service Bundle which will include all of them and gives you the discount for -5$ per month. Select the package, and then click on continue.
Finally, review the details to confirm the source domain and the new domain it will be cloned to. Once everything looks correct, click Create Website to submit the request.
You will then be redirected to a page showing that your new website is being set up. The cloning process may take a few minutes to complete, depending on the size of your website. Once the process is finished, you will see the new domain listed in your BigScoots Console.
Once the new domain has been created and you have confirmed that the website is working properly, you can remove the old domain by following this article.
If needed, you can also reach out to us and we can help set up a redirect from the old domain to the new one. Once the old domain is removed, the additional charge associated with it will also be canceled/refunded accordingly.
