This article will walk you through with a step-by-step guide of how to register your nameservers at Namecheap. Registering your nameservers is a process used when you are wanting to utilize a set of your own custom nameservers, i.e. “ns1.yourdomain.com and ns2.yourdomain.com.”

Step 1: Log into your Namecheap account. Once logged into your dashboard select “Domain list” from the navigation.

Step 2: On the next screen click “Manage” next to the domain you want to register your name servers for.

Step 3: On the next screen click “Advanced DNS”.

Step 4: Scroll down to the “Personal DNS Server” section and click “Add Nameserver”. From the dropdown, you will first select the prefix of your name server like ‘ns1’ ‘ns2’ ‘ns3’ etc. The below it you would enter in the IP of the name server and click Done.

Step 5: You will follow the same steps as in Step 4 for your 2nd name servers, if you have more than two then keep adding.

Step 6: Once completed, you will be greeted with a green popup letting know you the name server has been successfully added.
