Sometimes you will run into issues within WordPress where for some reason you're unable to update or run a command for your Plugin or Theme, a lot of times it can return errors like "Update Failed: Could not create directory". Most commonly this is caused by an issue with file permissions.

Good news! We have built a feature into your WPO Panel that can resolve file permission issues with a single click of your mouse.

In order to accomplish this we're going to go through a step by step on how to navigate and execute the fix file permissions feature. Follow the steps below..

Step #1: Navigate to My Site > Utilities.

First, log in to your WPO portal, and click on the URL that you want to run the fix file permissions on.

Next, you're going to want to navigate to the Utilities tab within your site details.

Step 2 - Click the Fix Permissions button.

Now that you're on the correct tab, all you will need to do is click on the "Fix" button to the right of the "Fix Permissions" title as outlined below.

Keep in mind, as it states under "Fix Permissions", this process can take a little while depending on how many files you have, so be patient while it runs.

As always, if you're still having issues after running Fix Permissions, are unable to find this area, or simply would like help doing this, you can always contact us through the Support Tickets link in your WPO Portal.
