2FA is a second layer of security on top of traditional account logins that requires a third piece of information that is only within reach of the account holder.
This piece of information is a software distributed code by Google that creates a temporary token, or key, that will expire in 30 seconds. Now, any time you log into your account, you will be prompted to enter a newly generated code in addition to entering your username and password. The code will be sent to your mobile Google authenticator app, where it is only available to you.
Apart from Google authenticator, BigScoots provides you options for a text message or an email to the registered phone number/email address respectively for our WPO Portal 2FA login.
Enable 2FA within your billing portal:
1. Login to your BigScoots billing portal:
2. Navigate to the Security tab on the left side panel and select Multi-factor auth.
3. Click Activate and scan the QR code with the app you prefer.
Please make sure that you save the backup codes in a secure location in case you do not have access to the device you used to set up 2FA later at some point.
Enable 2FA within the WPO Portal:
Please note: This option is for those hosted within our fully managed WordPress (WPO) services only. If you are within a Shared hosting service, please use the steps above.
1. Login to your BigScoots WPO Portal.
2. Click Edit Profile & Security next to your profile picture on the left-hand side of the dashboard and then select the Password & Security.
3. Click Enable Two Factor Authentication.
You can use Google Authenticator / SMS / email verification. For Google Authenticator, you can scan the QR code from the next screen. If you opt for SMS/email verification, you will provide us with a 6-digit code sent to the phone number/email address we have on file when signing into your BigScoots WPO Portal.
You have successfully enabled two factor authentication!
