Before transferring the domain, there are some regulations from ICANN which cannot be bypassed:

  • Domains cannot be transferred within 60 days of being registered, renewed or transferred.

**Please note: While your domain is pending transfer to the new registrar no DNS adjustments can be made. Please ensure you make these adjustments prior to setting up the transfer if applicable.**

Getting Your Domain Ready For Transfer:

Before transferring your domain, there are a couple of steps that need to be completed.

To get started, login to your BigScoots billing portal from https://portal.bigscoots.com/clientarea/. Then navigate to Services > Domains > and select the domain you would like to transfer.

  1. Unlock the Domain
Domains are locked by default to avoid unauthorized transfers.

To unlock your domain, click Domain Details > Registrar Lock > Domain Lock Settings > Off.

  2. Turn OFF Domain Privacy
To turn OFF domain privacy click Domain Details > Privacy.

  3. Obtain the EPP Code
The EPP key (also known as the authorization code) is required by your new registrar to set up and complete the domain transfer.

To obtain your EPP code click Auth Info/EPP Key > Request Auth Info/EPP Code.
