How to create mysql user in cPanel

Creating a MySQL user in cPanel is a simple yet essential step when managing databases for your website. Whether you're setting up a new application or improving security by using separate users for different tasks, cPanel provides a user-friendly interface to handle it. In just a few clicks, you can add a new MySQL user, assign it to a database, and define the necessary permissions all without needing to write a single line of code.

  1. Enter cPanel - If you don't know how, you can follow this guide.

  2. In cPanel, look for the Manage My Databases option under the Database tab.

  3. Scroll down the page until you see 'Add New User.' Enter a username, set up a password, and click Create User.

  4. It will display a confirmation that the database user has been successfully created.

  5. Now, we need to add the newly created user to the database. Scroll down the page until you see 'Add User to Database'. Select the user and the database you want to add them to, then click Add.

  6. On the next page, it will ask you about the privileges you want to grant to the newly created database user. Select all privileges, then click Make Changes.
