Creating a database backup from cPanel is a simple yet essential task for anyone managing a website. Whether you're preparing for a major update or just want to keep your data safe, having a backup ensures you can restore your site quickly if something goes wrong. In this article, we'll walk you through the easy steps to create a database backup using cPanel, so you can protect your valuable information with confidence.
Enter cPanel - If you don't know how, you can follow this guide.
Scroll down until you see the Files section and select the Backup Wizard icon.
Within the Backup Wizard, you will see two options, Back Up and Restore. Back Up allows you to download a compressed copy of all or parts of your webfiles and database, while Restore allows you to upload an existing partial backup to restore parts of your site. For this article, you will want to click Back Up.
On the next page, you need to click on Backups under the Select Partial Backup section.
Then, you will see a list of databases hosted on your cPanel server. Click on the database for which you want to download the backup; the database dump will be saved to your local system.
Congratulations! You’ve successfully downloaded your recent database backup using cPanel.
