Keeping your WordPress plugins up to date is essential for the security of your website. In your WPO dashboard, plugin vulnerabilities are automatically identified by Patchstack, so you can quickly see if any installed plugins pose a security risk. This guide will walk you through how to check for these vulnerabilities, understand the details, and update the affected plugins to keep your site safe.
Login to your WPO portal using this link.
Click on ‘My Sites’ on the left side to view the list of WPO services in your BigScoots account. Select your service to see the websites hosted on it.
If there are any plugin vulnerabilities on your website, you’ll see a red pop-up under the Security section.
Click on the issue to go to the WordPress > Plugins section, where you’ll see the threat, the vulnerability details, and the recommended solution.
I have a plugin vulnerability in Elementor, which will be fixed in the latest available version as indicated in the notification.
I’ll first create a backup of the website, just to be safe, using the steps in this article. That way, if any issues arise, we can restore it from the latest backup.
Then click 'Update' to update the plugin. When the pop-up appears, click 'Proceed' to continue.
Once the plugin has been successfully updated, check the area again to confirm that no threats are found. Also, test the website’s functionality to be on the safe side.
Congratulations! You’ve successfully identified and resolved your plugin vulnerabilities.
