Tracking your site's DNS is a useful feature available to cPanel users. With cPanel, you can look up an IP address and trace the route from your computer to the host's server. This process provides valuable information, such as IP addresses, mail servers, email hosts, and DNS details. In this guide, we'll walk you through the steps of tracking a site's DNS using cPanel.

  1. Enter cPanel - If you don't know how, you can follow this guide.

  2. In cPanel, look for the 'Track DNS' option under the 'Advanced' tab.

  3. On the Track DNS page, you can input a domain to lookup under 'Enter a domain to look up:.' Once the domain has been listed, click 'Look Up' to see the results.

  4. After clicking 'Look Up,' you will be redirected to the Zone Information page, where you can see the site and the DNS information.

  5. Heading back to the track DNS page, you can trace the route your computer takes to access your website. The Trace function displays how many servers for which your data passes before it reaches your site, including the amount of time it takes. Under 'Trace Route,' click 'Trace' to view the route.

Congratulations! You've successfully tracked your DNS.
