As your site continues to grow, it is important to scale your service with the current needs of your site. Before getting started, we should inform you that we do suggest moving off Shared and into a WPO service. While Shared hosting is a great service for cost savings, it cannot always match the performance and storage needs that our WPO hosting plans provide. Regardless of how you decide to upgrade, this guide will walk you through the process of upgrading from your current Shared service.

Benefits of a WPO Service

The main difference between the Managed WordPress services and Shared services are the environments. Managed WordPress services are built with WordPress in mind to deliver significantly improved load times and elevated levels of performance and management when compared to Shared.

Within our Managed WordPress services, your site would be placed within a dedicated environment built around WordPress to optimize speed and performance. We are able to provision the server and scale resources (CPU, memory and storage) to fit your sites' current needs. We will also dig deep into issues such as stuck PHP processes, database inefficiencies, plugin conflicts, ongoing optimizations, security hardening and more. To top it all off, the Managed WordPress services come with ~30 proactive monitors that operate to seek and prevent site issues before they would impact you or your clients.

By comparison, Shared hosting is exactly how it sounds. You are losing the individual environment and are instead sharing an environment with multiple clients. While Shared is a great way to reduce cost, it will be unable to achieve the same levels of performance or hands-on management present within Managed WordPress services.
