Changing the hostname of your WHM server might seem like a small task, but it plays an important role in how your server identifies itself on the internet. Whether you're setting things up for the first time or updating an old hostname, it's a simple process that can help avoid issues with email deliverability, SSL certificates, and server communication. In this article, we’ll walk you through the steps to change your WHM server's hostname quickly and safely.
Enter WHM - If you don't know how, you can follow this guide.
Search for Change Hostname under Networking Setup and click on it.
Then change the hostname.
Now, go to the home page of WHM and search for Add an A entry for your hostname under DNS functions and click on it.
Then you will get a box to enter the IP address of your server. After entering the IP address, tap the Add Entry.
Please note that an A record will only work if the main domain is pointed to the server's nameservers.
Congratulations! You have successfully changed the hostname of a WHM server.
