Bigscoots offers 15 days of Backup retention on our shared cPanel services, utilizing the Jetbackup application for that purpose.
In order to restore a backup, follow these steps:
Step #1:
Log in to cPanel. If you're unsure how to do this, you can follow this guide. Then, go to the Files section and click on 'JetBackup 5'.
Step #2:
Click on 'Restore and Download' located second from the top on the left corner, then click on 'Home Directory' as shown in the screenshot below.
Step #3:
You will see a list of backup restore points. Click on the date from which you want to restore, then click on 'Change File Selection'.
Step #4:
Select the directory you want to restore. In my case, I am selecting public_html as I want to restore the main domain. Then, click on 'Select Files'.
Step #5:
It will then give you the option to restore the selected directory. Click on 'Restore'.
Step #6:
It will ask for confirmation on the next page. Click on 'Restore Selected Item' and keep the checkbox enabled for 'Go to Queue after I click Restore.' This will take you to the queue page and show the status of your restoration.
Step #7:
Once the restoration is complete, you will see it listed as completed in the 'Queue' section in JetBackup.
Step #8:
Similar to file backups, to restore a database, go to the Files section, click on 'JetBackup 5,' and then click on 'Database'.
Step #9:
Choose the database archive you want to restore, select the date from the dropdown, and then click on 'Restore.'
Step #10:
It will ask for confirmation on the next page. Click on 'Restore Selected Item' and keep the checkbox enabled for 'Go to Queue after I click Restore.' This will take you to the queue page and show the status of your restoration.
Step #11:
Once the restoration is complete, you will see it marked as completed in the 'Queue' section in JetBackup.
