When setting up a hosting environment using cPanel/WHM, it's important to configure your custom name servers to ensure proper domain resolution for all newly created accounts. By setting your preferred name servers in the WHM interface, every new cPanel account will automatically be assigned these DNS settings, streamlining management and maintaining consistency across hosted domains. This guide outlines the steps to configure your name servers effectively for new cPanel accounts.
Enter WHM - If you don't know how, you can follow this guide.
Search for Basic WebHost Manager® Setup under Server Configuration.
At the end of the page, you will see the Name Servers section. Update it with the ones you want to set for all new cPanel accounts, so they are automatically configured by default.
Now, we are creating a new cPanel account from WHM to test if the name servers are being added correctly. We have created a test cPanel account, and at the end of the configuration, you can see that the same name servers are displayed these are the default name servers that will be automatically added during the creation of any new cPanel account.
Congratulations! You have successfully configured your name servers to be used for newly created cPanel accounts.
