As part of your BigScoots account, we provide a set amount of storage for your sites. To help you manage and monitor your storage usage, cPanel offers a graphical overview of your disk space. The Disk Usage section in cPanel shows the disk space used by directories, however, it does not display the space taken up by individual files. This article will guide you through the steps to check your disk usage.
Please note: The database disk usage is not included within the Disk Usage section highlighted below. If interested in seeing the database usage, you can find it following this guide.
Enter cPanel - If you don't know how, you can follow this guide.
In cPanel, look for the Disk Usage option under the Files tab.
Within the Disk Usage section, you'll find an overview of what's consuming space in your directory, along with the available storage. At the top, there’s a table displaying the location, size, and disk usage of your databases. If you'd like to see the space usage of individual files, you can click the link to the File Manager to view all the files in the directory.
Towards the bottom of the Disk Usage page, you'll find another table that shows how much space the contents of each directory use, rather than the size of the directory itself, as files often take up more space than their actual size. In this table, you can view the information sorted by either Name or Disk Usage.
