If you're managing a VPS or dedicated server with WHM, you might encounter a situation where you need to convert an addon domain into its own standalone cPanel account. This process allows you to provide separate management and resources for the domain, giving you more control over its settings and functionality. As a root user in WHM, you have the ability to seamlessly convert an addon domain into a full cPanel account without any data loss. In this article, we'll guide you through the steps required to perform this conversion efficiently.

  1. Enter WHM - If you don't know how, you can follow this guide.

  2. Once you have accessed your whm, search for "Transfers" then select "Convert Addon Domain to Account".

  3. Once you are in the "Convert Addon Domain to Account" page, you can see all the addon domains. You can also search the addon domain using the domain name or the username. Find the addon domain you need to convert to separate account and click on "convert".

  4. Once you are in the new window, populate the details like username, contact mail, package information etc. Click on "Start Conversion" at the bottom of the page.

Congratulations! You've successfully converted the addon domain into its own cPanel account using whm.
