Yes Yes, we know… Gmail is awesome and you want to continue using it even though your email is hosted with BigScoots ;)

Well, we can make that happen. Essentially all your email will still be sent to/from BigScoots but Gmail will be periodically checking for new emails and pull them into your Gmail account. You can also configure Gmail to send emails using your email so the receiving end will see you@yourdomain.com instead of you@gmail.com. We explain all the necessary steps below.

Setting up your incoming email with Gmail:

  • Log into Gmail.
  • On the right hand side click the Settings wheel.
  • From the dropdown, select “Settings” and then the tab “Accounts and Import“.
  • Half way down the page click the link “Add a POP3 mail account you own”. You will now be greeted with a popup.
  • Enter in your email address and click Next Step
  1. Username: Your username will again be your email address
  2. Password: Enter in your password to your email account.
  3. POP Server: yourserver.securedserverspace.com (How do I find my server?)
  4. Port: 995
  5. Check the box for “Always use a secure connection (SSL) when retrieving mail.” The rest are optional and up to you.
  • Click “Add Account”.

You now have successfully added your BigScoots email account to your Gmail account. Any new emails received will now land in your Gmail account, congrats!

Setting up your outgoing email with Gmail:
